For our stamp club meeting in July, I wanted to introduce the stamp club gals to the fun of washi tape. We created this card that features a central die cut that features washi tape. To create that, we put the washi tape down diagonally on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and then die cut with a framelit die. It is really easy, and the gals loved the tape. One of them discovered quickly that it is repositionable which adds to the ease of use factor. Stampin' Up! sells the washi tape in bundles of three different rolls. Now that the Holiday catalog is on-line (as of today) we have four different bundles available for purchase.
I was also able to showcase the new magnetic platform for the Big Shot with this card, too. The magnet holds those framelits firmly in place which makes it MUCH easier to cut a stamped image like the banner or the washi taped cardstock in exactly the right spot. No more blue painters tape for me! Sadly, the demand has been so high for the magnetic platform that they are on backorder and Stampin' Up! has removed the item from availability until they can get caught up with existing orders. I'll let you all know when it is available again, because believe me – you're gonna want this tool!
I used the following supplies to make this card:
- Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
- Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Whisper White
- Ink: Pear Pizzazz
- Accessories: Honeycomb embossing folder, Gingham Garden washi tape, Bitty Banners framelits, Window Frames framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals
