I designed this card over the weekend and made several of them. I need to get another batch of Thank You’s out in the mail, and it was a great weekend to be crafting. It was so stinkin’ hot and humid here in Vermont, so hanging out inside doing some crafting was the best way to keep busy and stay comfortable. The rumor from the weather person is that the heat and humidity will be breaking when a front moves through today. I’m not looking forward to the weather that will accompany that front (we’ve had far too much rain), but it will be nice to have cooler, dryer weather.
I purchased the Wildly Flowering Suite a bit ago and this is the first time that I’ve used any of the constituent parts. The patterned paper is one of the items that will be included in the DSP sale that starts on Tuesday and runs through the rest of the month (while supplies last). Some of the colors in the paper are from the 2023-25 In Color collection, and they are partnered with some great colors in the standard/core colors. If you haven’t checked out the paper or the other parts of the suite, I encourage you to take a few minutes to check it out here.
This sketch challenge was the inspiration for my card design. As you know, I’m a fan of grid-based layouts, so this one was right up my alley! I love how there are sections to feature some of the great patterned papers that we have. I was also inspired by a couple of samples that show sections that were embossed with an embossing folder. There are so may great ways to take this card design!
I’m also making a large-ish batch of Holiday cards using this same sketch. I’ll be sharing that card a little later this week, so stay tuned.
This patterned paper is gorgeous and works perfectly with the sketch! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks so much Karren – your kind words made my morning!
