Last month I participated in an online paper crafting class. As I typed that sentence I was going to say an online card making class and then I did the forehead slap because the project that I’m sharing today is clearly not a card. One of the presenters absolutely loves making boxes, so she always includes a box for one of her presentations. This one uses a full sheet of patterned paper to create the box. This was a real dilemma for me because I have a problem with tending to hoard pretty papers. I gritted my teeth and picked a beautiful design from the Winter Meadow patterned papers. This paper was in the Holiday mini last year, and it was sooo popular. I was thrilled to see that they have carried it forward and it’s still available for Holiday projects this year. The best part of this paper is that it is much more like Winter, rather than Holiday so you can use it for any of your Winter-feel cards.

I can’t share the instructions for the box because I feel like I need to protect the information from the designer. However you can do a search online and find videos for other projects that are also card holders that feature gorgeous patterned paper. So treat this post as inspiration to look for other projects that you would love to create! YouTube really does have some great videos that provide inspiration. One tip that I recently learned from an instructor is to watch the whole video first so you get the sense of what’s going on. Then, gather your supplies and watch again using the pause button to stop for each step. That way there’s no rush – you can take your time and progress at your pace.
