by_the_seashore_celebrationI created this card the other evening so I could participate in a sketch challenge this week. The challenge is for a Stampin' Up! demonstrator group that I belong to, and I'm very happy that I was able to meet the deadline. I typically don't have my act together to submit a project in time, so it is very exciting for me when I actually pull it off. I am totally in love with the Moonlight paper pack, and I was happy to pull it out for the sketch challenge. I think part of why I love it is because it uses several of the new In Colors, and it 's fun to play with some new colors. I also think that the Lost Lagoon color combined with Sahara Sand is perfect for a beachy feel. What do you think?

Another pseudo challenge that has been thrown down on that site is to "use what you have" to create a project. The goal of that challenge is to ink up or use something that you haven't ever used before. It is so easy to get sucked in by a project you see on-line and you rush and buy the supplies. Then… you never quite get around to completing it. *sigh*  The only thing that I used for the first time on this card was one of the square Framelits dies. The stamps have seen ink before, but it has been quite a while since the seaside images saw ink, so I felt that I needed to get some more mileage out of them. I definitely feel the inspiration to use these images in the summer time, and then I forget all about them in the other seasons.

So, that is my challenge to you. Pull out some supplies that you purchased but haven't used yet. Find a project on-line in Pinterest or some other site, or look at magazines or old catalogs for inspiration. It doesn't have to be a design that you have come up with – the important thing is to use some things that you have.  Use your supplies and create something – nothing fancy, just do it. Challenge on – get crafty!
