The chickens in the Hey Chuck set are absolutely hilarious. This one is posed to be riding on the skateboard that’s included in the set which is a crazy concept when you think about it even a little bit. I decided to just have the bird strutting on my card. The image has him (or is it her?) mid-yell which makes me think of the imperious Queen of Hearts in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Combined with the sentiment, I’m thinking of this chicken as the unhinged monarch of the chicken coop. šŸ˜ I’m having fun with these stamps and I’m looking forward to coloring another of these funky-looking fowl.

The patterned paper that I used on my card is one of my favorites in the Annual catalog. It’s called Glorious Gingham and it has the large diagonal checks you see here on one side, and a smaller check pattern on the reverse. I absolutely love gingham patterns and I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! has some of these papers again. This paper pack is 6″x6″ and has the same patterns in 5 colors: Pretty Peacock (shown here), Pecan Pie, Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, and Lemon Lime Twist. There are so many opportunities to use these colors throughout the year.

I’m so thrilled to submit a card for the 600th challenge from the Freshly Made Sketches blog! I remember when they reached the 200 challenge milestone and I am so happy that they continue to provide us inspiration every week. The design team and the challenges provide inspiration that I keep leveraging long after a challenge is over. Of course, it’s fun to participate when the challenges are “live”, and I just couldn’t miss this special milestone sketch. Thank you so much Freshly Made Sketches for all that you do for the card making community! Here’s to another 600!!!
