I created this pretty card using a new stamp set from the big catalog that started in June. I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous, extra large sentiments that are part of this set. This card is all about the stamping – there are no other embellishments on here. I wanted the sentiment to be the true focal point on this card, so I just added a few flowers in the corners to add some “zing”. All of the stamping is done with the one stamp set, and the flowers are “2-Step” stamps as you can see here. I paired lighter and darker colors for the flowers, and then used a Night of Navy dot for the center. For the large flower I paired Powder Pink with Calypso Coral, and for the small flowers I paired Soft Sky with Marina Mist.
I must confess that I didn’t purchase the bundle when I bought this stamp set. I just didn’t envision that I would ever use the interlocking garland-y type pieces that are the main part of the dies. If you think that you would use them, then by all means purchase the bundle to save the 10%. I think that this is one of those special stamp sets that is truly wonderful all on its own, and the coordinating dies aren’t a “must have”. What do you think? Are the dies calling to you?
