Last week Steve and I were on vacation, and we had a wonderful, relaxing time. We drove across northern New York and made a few stops along the way to visit museums and take in some great natural wonders. As I said, this was a driving vacation, so we didn’t have to worry about size and weight of our luggage. I took advantage of that freedom and packed a couple Paper Pumpkin kits to have on hand just in case we had a bit of free time chilling in the hotel room. I’ve done this before and told you about it here. It worked out so great in the past that I decided to do it again for this vacation. If we didn’t have any time (or I didn’t have the energy) for me to work on a kit, then it was ok because we had the space to carry them along. And if we did have some time, then I had something to occupy myself. I brought Paper Pumpkin kits but any of the other kits would be great for this, too!

This time I had an interesting wrinkle. I put all of the things that I would need in one of the orange boxes – scissors, Tombow Mono Adhesive, and Stampin’ Seal. You know what you don’t see in that list – that’s right… an acrylic stamping block. As I was pulling out the kit stuff I did the classic forehead slap. Then I looked around the room to see if there was anything there that I could use instead as a block. What I came up with was my phone case. It’s clear so I could see where I was stamping, and it isn’t too big and cumbersome. The challenge is that it is flexible, so I had to be very careful as I stamped to not have blurred images. My creative time required some additional creativity! 😉
