I loved the layout so much from a recent post, I replicated it for a batch of cards for our church birthday card ministry. For these cards I raided a stash of non-Stampin’ Up! papers that I’ve collected over the years. Several years ago I had purchased these papers for a bright scrapbook layout that I created, and I discovered these supplies recently as I was re-organizing an area in my crafting space. I hope that the June birthday celebrants among our church family enjoy these cards!
I’ve usually been able to find Stampin Up! colors that coordinate with patterned papers from “other” companies. I raided my stash of retired and current products when I created this card and I’m glad that I had supplies that worked well. I’m still sad that Tempting Turquoise was retired several years ago because there really isn’t something quite like that color. I really love this trio of colors together, and I think that they go perfectly with this bright, happy paper.

I had another paper in my stash that I used for this card. It was actually from the same company that produced the earlier patterned paper I used. For this card I was able to use colors that are all currently available, but I did raid my retired stash for the Bermuda Bay thick baker’s twine that I used. I don’t love this card quite as much as the previous one, but I REALLY love the first one, and I’m still liking this color combination and the patterned dots in the paper for this card.
These cards were pretty quick to mass produce, and I really love how they turned out. There are enough elements on these cards that make it clear that they were handmade and I hope that the recipients are pleased with the result. I also hope that the lovely women that send the cards are cheered by these bright colors and have fun sending these cards out.
