I created this card so I could play with some of the new Flowering Zinnias patterned paper that is among the latest Online Exclusive products. I adore this paper; it is so bright and cheerful and there are a lot of different patterns that make it very versatile. I definitely encourage you to check it out as well as the other new exclusive products. You can see them here. I just discovered that the paper isn’t currently available, and found that more is expected to arrive at the warehouse in the middle of April. So don’t despair, you’ll be able to get your hands on this pretty paper real soon.
I used this old sketch as the layout inspiration for my card design. I actually made a large batch of these cards so I wanted a design where I could maximize what I could create with a single piece of patterned paper. The cutting dimensions to recreate this card are:
- Basic White Thick: 4 1/4″ x 11″
- Berry Burst: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 2 1/8″ x 3″
- Basic White: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ and 3″ x 3″
- Flowering Zinnias: 2″ x 3″
A note of disclosure – I did use a non-Stampin’ UP! die to create the pierced background layer.
I used this sketch for another card a few months ago. It shows how using different colors can create something that has a very different look. You can check it out here.
