This is the fourth and final card that I have to share from the on-line creative event that I attended ages ago. I think it’s fitting that I finish up sharing the last card from that event as I’m preparing to attend the online World Card Making Day event tomorrow (you can learn more about that here). I’m excited that everyone will have an opportunity to attend a Stampin’ Up! online event because they do such a fantastic job. I’m eagerly anticipating the event as I start to prep my materials!
I have to say that I wasn’t as excited about this card but it’s been growing on me. There are some interesting elements here and it features the gorgeous Splendid Day Specialty patterned paper which is a winner in my book. The especially cool thing about this card is that it uses the negatives of the semi-circle diecuts that I used on this card. I don’t tend to hold onto negative images because I would be drowning in scraps, but it is appealing to my frugal nature to not waste anything. Another subtle thing is that we used the Blending Brushes to darken the lower right corner of the Soft Sea Foam layer fading to the lighter upper-left corner. I dearly love the Blending Brushes for the subtle color blending that you can achieve with them – they are one of my favorite tools now. I also got to pull out my Heat Tool and embossing powder for this card; the technique/tool that first got me hooked on stamping. I haven’t been doing much heat embossing lately (my husband has commented on this more than once), and it was great to go back to my original love!
